During the week of November 15-19, 2004 the Electric Drive Transportation Association held their 21st Annual International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exposition at the Long Beach Convention Center in Southern California. As part of this week long convention Teevan Events as a subcontractor to First Option – Conference & Event Management, produced the “Gala Evening” aboard the Queen Mary.
Multiple entertainment areas were set up in four ballrooms including music, decor and ambient entertainment. In keeping with the era of the grand old ship talent selections were made along a 1940’s/50’s theme including: 1940’s Cigarette Girls as Greeters, Celebrity Impersonators Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, May West and the “Rat Pack” Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. Music was provided by Pete Jacob’s Wartime Review, Red & The Red Hots, The Johnny Crawford Dance Orchestra and The Martini Kings.
